Write a short summary of a professional code of ethics, preferably one germane to your major or field (e.g., Code of Ethics of the National Society of Engineers; Code of Ethics of the American Medical Association; Code of Ethics for the Association of American Educators) The first part of the Association of Information Technology Professionals document, lists six major stockholders that IT professionals are obligated towards. These include: management, fellow members, society, employers, college or university and country. The Standards of Conduct then further break down four of these areas (management, fellow members, society and employers). First; however, it reminds the reader that these are rules above and beyond â€Å"the appropriate laws of country and community.† Some common bullet points within each section are as follows. Firstly, most talk about having an obligation to have up-to-date knowledge. Secondly, almost all talk about either taking responsibility for your work or at the very least not taking credit for the work of others. Contradicting Symbolism in Joseph Conrads quot;Heart of...

Joseph Conrad utilizes several important literary techniques throughout his story Heart of Darkness. One predominant method of his storytelling is the use of contrasting sensory imagery between black and white and altering the symbolism the colors entail. This theme is clearly prevalent when we read of Marlows childhood dreams and when comparing and contrasting the Africans, the Europeans, and the corruption of the ivory trade. Generally, Africa and Africans are described in terms of blackness, symbolic of darkness, evil, and corruption. On the other hand, Europe and Europeans are defined in terms of white, representative of innocence and purity. These images are essential in proving the dominant theme of good versus evil†¦show more content†¦The Africans are portrayed as shadowy, shady figures blending into the background of the night, distinguishable only by their eyes. This is an early indication of the purity of the souls of the black slaves; although their bodies seem invisible in the night, their white remains undisguised. Marlows earliest glimpse of the corruption of the ivory trade is when he sees ...six black men...black rags were wound round their loins...with that complete, deathlike indifference of unhappy savages (81). Although Marlow appears to have some sense of compassion for the slaves, he still refers to them as savages. It is apparent that Marlow at first views the Africans as mere creatures, but he soon became compassionate as he observes their ...pain, abandonment, and despair (83). He immediately notices that ...they were dying slowly--it was very clear. They were not enemies...not criminals (83). This is an early turning point as Marlow begins to realize Africans are not the savages as they are typically stereotyped. Marlows first mention of European contact with the Africans explains how Captain Fresleven, Marlows predecessor with the ivory company, was the gentlest, quietest creature that ever walked on two legs (72), beat an African unmercifully with a stick. In this instance, the white captain appears to be mild and kind, yet the actions of Captain Fresleven are not consistent with the traditional

Question: Write an essay on the skills and Leadership category. Answer: Listening is an important skill which helps a leader to lead a team effectively. Listening helps a leader to know about the different problems which an employee or customer feels about a product or the organization (Three Skills CEOs Need Most, 2016). Through proper listening, the leader can solve the problems. Observing is also another important skill which a leader should have to control different actions in an organization effectively. Observation helps a leader to come out with innovative ideas (Three Skills CEOs Need Most, 2016). Sensing is another skill in improving the quality of a leader. Sensing helps a leader to find out the positive and negative actions which are taking place around him or her. I lack in listening skills because often a miscommunication happens in listening. This is created because of wrong interpretation of the ideas. Often ideas are presented in a critical way. Therefore, the idea which someone is presenting gets changed and creates a problem. Along with these, I am an autocratic leader and who loves dictating others. I lack in observation because of the absence of good listening skills. I am a curious person who tries to observe the behavior of the different individuals and this often creates a problem. I always try to come up with innovative products but it often becomes unrealistic. This is because others do not think the same way as I think. Office colleagues have been able to identify my shortcomings through my different actions. Often I take decisions which are not compatible with the present scenario (Lafley, 2009). Moreover, my autocratic nature also creates dissatisfaction among other employees. This often makes them jealous of me and they in turn try to find my flaws.
